Grape Witches Education Hour: Powerful Mothers
This Mother’s Day, gather with Grape Witches to celebrate wines that represent powerful mothers. This Education Hour will focus on producers that dedicate their lives to the land they work on, transforming and uplifting their place and community. Taste wines that make you feel nurtured and represent light, life and new beginnings, exuding power, strength and poise. Bring your mother, your bestie, your co-parent or your inner child. Expect delicious sips and big feelings!
This session will be led by GW co-founder and one of Toronto’s most in demand sommeliers, Krysta Oben who has written the excellent wine lists at Paris Paris, And/ore and beyond and Waterworks GM Alexia David, who comes to us from some of Vancouver’s very best restaurants including Michelin-star winning Burdock & Co.
This seated, 75 minute Education Hour takes place in the Waterwork’s East Annex co-working space. All event tickets are non-refundable.

Motherless Day
Mother’s Day can be tough without a mom. Instead of sitting it out, Motherless Day is a chance to reclaim it. It’s a gathering for those without mothers, in support of CAMH. There will be connection, creativity, and community—storytelling, memory collages, flower pressing, a conversation with My Dead Mom creator Wendy Litner, and more. It’s a space for those who truly get it—no explanations needed.

Electric Theatre: Immersive Art Installation
Electric Theatre by Philippe Blanchard is a fabric immersive installation where patterns of coloured light “animate” dyes in knit and tufted yarn. With this project, the artist explores how animation and moving images can be experienced beyond a two-dimensional screen, as something spatial and tactile, where the material itself appears animated. The title of the piece refers to an original name for moving pictures, in the late 19th century, at a time when films would be shown as a novelty in travelling tents at fairgrounds and exhibitions.
